West Coast Rise

This existing 2 storey semi-detached house was reconstructed to accommodate the owner’s need for more storage area and to maximise the building’s footprint yet still preserving the inherent charms of the house such as the outdoor patio and a private garden.

The interior spaces on the First Storey were reorganized by condensing the service areas to free up space for a larger living, dining and patio area. With the new found space, a new studio space was added that opens out to the private garden and a reflective pool. The Second storey was extended to create an outdoor garden cantilevering over the reflective pool below and linking the parents’ bedroom to the son’s bedroom. This outdoor garden was designed to provide more opportunities to interact with nature and family members. An attic was also added for more storage.
