Inspired by the timeless Prairie Houses of Frank Lloyd Wright, Leedon Park II is a collection of 2 large houses. The composition features distinct horizontal sweeps of cantilevering beams and projecting balconies and roof eaves, which are accentuated by vertical planar elements. One house is designed as an L-shaped plan that pivots around the sweeping central staircase while the other house is a compact plan. Both houses extend to embrace their own private rear gardens. Green open space extends to the expansive 2nd storey garden terraces and there is a meditation pavilion in the larger of the 2 houses. The overhanging roof eaves and dark-coloured vertical timber screen work together to shade the 2nd storeys and underline the horizontal banding. The walls are clad with antique-finish Sandalwood stone accented by black Metalicus stone.
Both houses were awarded the BCA's Greenmark Platinum Award in recognition of environmental design solutions.
